Getting Garmin data into Clippd

Q. I have edited my data in Garmin Golf but it is not showing in Clippd.

A. Any data edited in Garmin Golf will not be replicated in Clippd. You must edit your round in Clippd and save.

Q. How long do rounds take to verify and check in Clippd?

A. Verifying a round in Clippd should take between 2-5 minutes. This will depend on the accuracy of the data being imported from the Garmin device.

Q. Why hasn't my Garmin round flowed into Clippd?

A. Please make sure you have selected Save Round on your Garmin device. Your round should flow into your Garmin Golf account. Once there, it will quickly flow into Clippd. You will receive a notification from Clippd once this has happened.

Q. How long does my Garmin round take to flow into Clippd?

A. As soon as the round has been saved and is visible in the Garmin Golf app, it will appear in Clippd. However, there may be some circumstances such as a bad signal that could delay this process. If you are experiencing this issue for over one hour please email [email protected] with your round details.

Q. How do I know when my Garmin round has flowed into Clippd?

A. You will receive a notification from Clippd to say a new draft round is ready for you to review.

Q. I cannot see my historical Garmin rounds in Clippd

A. Currently, the Clippd and Garmin integration does not include the import of historical Garmin rounds. However, this is something that will come in the future and we will be sure to let you know.

Q. Why does my round show as a draft round?

A. Your Garmin round initially shows as a draft round to give you the opportunity to add and correct your shot data. When the round is in draft you have two options:

Publish Scores Only - You and the people you‘re connected with will only see your score and basic analytics, such as fairways hit, GIR, number of putts.

Review Round - You will be taken to your round in Clippd where you can correct errors and add any missing shots. If there is an error in the data, such as a missing shot, delete all the shots on the hole that came after the shot in question, add the missing shot info, and then re-enter the subsequent shots on the hole. Click Save Round or move on to correct any further errors.

Q. What data populates when I publish scores only?

A. You will only see your score and basic analytics, such as fairways hit, GIR, number of putts.

Q. Can I add data to my score-only rounds at a later date?

A. Yes. First, find the activity in Clippd. Tap the three dots in the top right, select Edit activity and scroll down to Edit Shots. If there is an error in the data, such as a missing shot, delete all the shots on the hole that came after the shot in question, add the missing shot info, and then re-enter the subsequent shots on the hole. Click Save Round or move on to correct any further errors.

Q. Where do I find my draft Garmin rounds?

A. Your draft Garmin rounds can be found in Clippd within your Activities.

Missing shots and Incorrect data

Q. There are shots missing from my round in Clippd

A. The shots you see in Clippd are the shots that your Garmin device recorded. If there are missing shots, you can add these by clicking Review Round when the round is a Draft Activity or by tapping the three dots if the round is published. If there is an error in the data, such as a missing shot, delete all the shots on the hole that came after the shot in question, add the missing shot info, and then re-enter the subsequent shots on the hole. Click Save Round or move on to correct any further errors.

Q. Why are all of my putts missing in Clippd?

A.The shots you see in Clippd are the shots your Garmin device has tracked. For greater data accuracy when playing, make sure you add the number of putts you hit and change the pin location on your Garmin watch.

Q. Why are there missing shots in Clippd?

A. The shots you see in Clippd are the shots your Garmin device has tracked. Some shots, such as chips, can be missed by the device but can be added once the round is in Clippd.

Q. Why are my putting distances off in Clippd?

A. Your Garmin device automatically places the pin in the center of the green. Changing the pin location on each hole on your Garmin device when playing will improve the accuracy of your putt distances in Clippd. You can edit putt distances by clicking Review Round when the round is a Draft Activity or by tapping the three dots if the round is published. If Garmin recorded that you took two putts, go into the round, and add the distance of each putt recorded. You can use the Enhanced Mode to give more information, such as break and where you missed, which will give you more detailed putting analytics in Clippd. Click Save Round after adding your putt distances.

Q. Why do my penalty shots appear as the first shot in Clippd when the penalty was on a later shot?

A. When a penalty is added on your Garmin device, it does not stipulate which shot it was for. As a result, Clippd has to assume it was on your first shot as this is most often the case.

You can correct mistakes by clicking Review Round when the round is a Draft Activity or by tapping the three dots if the round is published. Delete all the shots on the hole that came after the shot in question, add the penalty and outcome, and then re-enter the subsequent shots on the hole. Click Save Round or move on to correct any further errors.

Q. Why does the club I hit show as UNKNOWN in Clippd?

A. Please make sure you have Club Prompt turned on in your Garmin Device. If this is not turned on or you do not add the club you hit on your device, it will show in Clippd as UNKNOWN. You can add the club data once the round is in Clippd.

Q. Why are the end lies in Clippd not correct?

A. Your Garmin device uses GPS and course mapping to determine the end lie. Sometimes this can be incorrect (for example if you are just off the fairway). You can edit these details once the round is in Clippd.

Q. Why are my chip shots not showing in Clippd?

A. Chip shots can be missed due to swing speed. You can add shots manually with your Garmin device during the round or add them once the round is in Clippd. You can add a missed chip by clicking Review Round when the round is a Draft Activity or by tapping the three dots if the round is published. Delete all the shots on the hole that came after the chip or chips, and then re-enter the subsequent shots on the hole. Click Save Round or move on to correct any further errors.

Q. Why are my shot distances in Clippd different to Garmin?

A. If you have edited data in Clippd such as putt distance, this will have an impact on the previous shot distance. Therefore the shot will no longer match the shot distance shown in Garmin Golf.

Golf course and Tees

Q. Why is the tee I played off different in Clippd to Garmin?

A. Clippd and Garmin use a separate course database. The integration looks to match the two databases. However, things such as course changes can impact the effectiveness of this process. If there is an error, you can easily change the tee once the round is in Clippd. You can change tees by clicking Review Round when the round is a Draft Activity or by tapping the three dots if the round is published.
